The July, 2019 B.A.S.H. meeting was held on Sunday the 14th B&J’s Pizza on Staples at Timbergate, hosted by Paul Holder. El Presidente Mike Wojdyla called the meeting to order, thanked Paul and B&J’s and welcomed new members Matt and Chrystal Sebring. New Treasurer Walt Crawford gave his first financial report and collected dues for the 2019-2020 fiscal year. New Vice President Of Social Events Mary Kay Schultz reported that the new socials will be on a Sunday or Thursday during the 1st week of each month. Mike reported that Wild Bill Lehfeld was the Homebrewer Of The Year for the abbreviated 2019 season. The 2020 competition schedule is now aligned with the fiscal year (July-June). Jeff Spirko won the AHA-sanctioned Best Of Show competition in June and will be immortalized in Zymurgy Magazine. Tom Freund reminded everyone to continue thinking about teams for November’s Iron Mash competition (no more than 4 members per team). Nueces Brewing is now open!
As we tore into the delicious B&J’s pizzas provided by Paul we enjoyed two of the beers from May’s Big Brew – Aggie Bill Hughen’s Battlecow Galacticose New England IPA and Mark Quade/Tom Freund’s American brown ale. We also enjoyed new homebrews from John Fulton (ordinary bitter) and Paul (London Fog Bitter) along with B&J’s vast offering of Drafts, cans and bottles.
