Andy and Cathy Vaughn hosted the December 2024 B.A.S.H. meeting on Sunday the 8th at their home in Corpus Christi. President Vic Aguilar called the meeting to order and thanked our hosts.
In his secretary’s report, Wild Bill Lehfeld reviewed upcoming meeting hosts and competitions. The competition this month (delayed from November) was open to any style, with American Porter/English Porter/Pre-Prohibition Porter receiving double Homebrewer of the Year points. With four competitors, 1st place received 3 HBOY points (doubled for American Porter/English Porter/Pre-Prohibition Porter), 2nd place received 2 HBOY points (doubled for the porters), 3rd place received 1 HBOY point (doubled for the porters) and 4th place and above received no HBOY points. As we devoured pulled pork sliders, we enjoyed the competition beers and new homebrews from Vic (Festbier/Pilsner w/ Beach Ball hops) Andy (Christmas beer) and Joe (blueberry cinnamon mead). Interesting commercial beers were provided by Cary Blocker (False Idol Fluffenstein Imperial Marshmallow Stout/Viva Los Vaqueros Mexican-style Lager/Martin House Scary Apple Pie/Coquito), John Brett (Perennial Abraxas 2021 Imperial Stout), Jason (Evel Kneivel Imperial West Coast IPA), Mark Marshall (Crank Arm Road Hazard Hazy IPA/Parish & Weldwerks Extra Extra Ghosty Bits), Lou Needleman (State of Brewing Chocolate Lava Cake Stout/Maguires Draught Stout) and Bianca Prado (Abita Fluffer Nutter White Stout).
