J. D. and Lara Busch hosted the December, 2020 B.A.S.H. meeting on Sunday the 13th at Trout Street Bar & Grill in Port Aransas. We spent most of the evening on the back patio, until the cold front blew in.
El Presidente Jack Heim called the meeting to order and welcomed guest Tom Ormrod. As usual for December, business discussion was held to a minimum. Walt Crawford forgot to abscond with the club treasury when he fled to Hawaii. The Iron Mash winning team plaque and winners pint glasses are ready for next months’ meeting. We’ve got meeting hosts setup through April. J.D. reminded us of the silent auction and fundraising jar for a special child named Zeke. Stay tuned for upcoming announcements about socials.
There was no competition this month. After adjourning the meeting in near record time, we enjoyed Trout Street’s delicious appetizers and entrees. The service was superb! We relished draft beer from the bar and emptied several coolers of homebrew. Guest Tom shared five homebrews – spiced winter lager, doppelbock, double IPA, chocolate vanilla nitro porter and milk chocolate peanut butter nitro stout.
The big news was that Paul Holder bought Wild Bill Lehfeld’s dinner – but only after confirming Trout Street was out of lobster and caviar. When Paul opened his wallet at nights’ end the creaks and groans had everyone cringing, as did the emerging cloud of moths!
Overheard from Elizabeth: “You’ll have to forgive Chris – he’s kinda HANDSY!”
